Baz is pitching tonight. A lot of folks are down on him. I would love to see a dominant performance to quiet the chatter.

Shaq - Curious to hear your thoughts on Baz's night. Gave up a few hard hits, but he also struck out 43% of batters and was victimized by an over .500 BABIP. Pitched a shut-out with only 7 hits and no walks over 6 innings. Dude looked legit to me.

Hey bud. Sorry I didn't get back to you before the game. Traveled to Arlington to watch the Rangers series, and although I saw your question before the performance, I didn't have time to put thought to paper. It is a LONG drive from Jacksonville. I picked up my parents, and meeting my brother and his wife for the game. My girlfriedn will fly out on Saturday hopefully. Bro's stationed in Oakland, so Dallas is a nice half way option. We did Atlanta last year, but the Rays aren't going to ATL this year. Dad's 80th was in March, so we're going to spend a week going to Rays games and enjoying each other. Mom and Dad didn't want to leave their 12 year old dog behind, so I drove them. Long, Long, LONG fucking drive. I'm in Jax, they're in Tallahassee. Picked them up, made it to Lafayette LA, stayed the night, then on to Arlington this morning. Arrived at 7 PM Eastern, picked brother and sis in law up at 9 PM local. Having some beers, grateful the 2 days is over. I'm 43, and a 13 hour trip used to sound like fun. Maybe in your 20s. In your 40s, with an old dog and old parents, doing all the driving, horrific.

I didn't watch him pitch on Tuesday. My notes last year are "poor command, poor changeup. No deception. Throws Fastball low in zone. Fastball velo down significantly. Good curve if can get down in zone. Won't survive with 2 pitches unless throws Fastball up, curveball down. ---Middle reliever without a 3rd pitch".

I think you will like what you see with him. His curve ball was devastating. I think it was his put away pitch for 6 of his 10 Ks. I wanted to see him get his FB velo back up to the 97 range, which he was able to do, and I wanted to see him get his Ks back up to the 30% range. He struck out 10 of 23 (43%), so I was really pleased with his night.

LOL... I did some long drives with my folks when they were in their early 70s. They were horrendous drives. I'd rather drive with young children in the back of the car than do that ever again. You're a good son. That said, I hope you had fun and got to enjoy some quality time with your folks. Time is precious.

Time is indeed precious. Let me know if you're still following this. I'll tell you about meeting Mason Montgomery's mom at the game.

I'm waiting on a picture to tell the story. But I'll post it when I get it. I got a Rays outfit for Christmas 3 or 4 years ago. Zubaz pants, matching shirt, Rays all the way. No idea how it happened, as it's the new color scheme, but I thought Zubaz only existed in like the early 90s. Anyways, I love it! Loud, just like me, big, just like me. I have worn this hideous outfit at every ballpark I've been to in the last 3 or so years. Dodgers stadium, heard "yo, somebody wore their Rays pajamas to the game". Best line yet, heard in a stairwell. I've worn it in Atlanta, White Sox, Dodgers, Seattle, Trop...Gonna wear it in Steinbrenner for sure. God dapped up a lot in Arlington. Hope you are old enough to remember Zubaz from the early 90s.

Arrived at Mom and dad's house 3 hours ago. 1:30 AM EST. We stopped at several Architectural salvage places they wanted to stop at. It's like antiques, but somehow shittier. (Just kidding, I like Architectural salvage, but every place that has a fucking used door handle section now advertises as architectual salvage, so we went to a lot of bad antique shops with old bathtubs out back...therefore...architectural salvage). All of which were "only a few minutes out of the way". Honestly, best time of my life. Had a blast asking born in 1945 and 1950 if they remembered things. -----------------------------------------------------------new paragraph-------------------It's long past my bed time, but I'll give a preview. I unfortunately was wearing my fucking clown outfit when I was telling Mrs Montgomery all about how I believed her son to be the best relief prospect since Kimbrel, her son's xFIPs and statcast blah blah blah. I have to share the actual picture to tell the whole story

Monty's not loving the short porch in Yankee Stadium II. Another HR tonight. Didn't cost the game this time though.

Sadly, I'm old enough to remember those pants. I never thought I could pull them off though.
