There aren’t a lot of guys I’d want to see the Rays acquire from the Yankees and none of them are in this trade. The headliner Lombard looks like another light hitting good defense SS, which the Rays have plenty of in their system already. Warren wouldn’t be my first (or second) choice of pitcher. For one, the Rays don’t really need pitching in 2025. For another, Chase Hampton should be the target. Rays pass on this trade. However, even if they liked the return, the Rays don’t trade players to the Yankees.
