4Assuming Soto goes to Mets and Phillies sign Bregman. Phillies replenish pitching depth (especially bullpen ). Yankees sign one of the top pitchers on the market (Burnes, Snell, Fried) using Soto’s money. Cards get a nice long term piece in Schmidt and a high upside Arias. Maybe a little light for them. I don’t know. Donovan to LF, Judge to RF, Dominguez to CF Chisholm to 2B, Bohm to 3B. Sign Walker for 1B.
Yes I think Philly likes this. And Cards can use Schmidt in a year or two when they are competitive again. Or the flip him for prospects at 2025 deadline.
Lot of moving parts. To many for the Yankees? Bloom loves collecting SS, Phillies sign Bregman and get 2 RP’s plus an SP is pretty good.
I see a lot of moving parts this offseason (especially if Soto leaves-which I now expect). They need to make some moves trade wise and signing. They can’t lose the momentum of a World Series berth. I personally don’t like a whole lot of the position players FAs. I see a lot of regression from Santander, Teoscar, Adames, Alonso, Bregman. I like Christian Walker on 3 or less years (ideally 2 yrs with a higher AAV-like 2 years/$52 million-26 AAV). Love Carlos Santana on a 1 year-$ 9.5 million sign-but he would fit better if Soto came back. I like Kim for middle infield if we are confident about the shoulder. I am actually more confident in pitching FAs. So we trade SP pitching depth for bats and then sign pitching.
