Rays don’t need pitching in my opinion but flipping Mead for productive assets is still a good idea. Works for me.

I see this as an opportunity to get an undervalued reliever. I think Bubic is a top 10 reliever in the game. And the Rays lost quite a few AAA depth pieces to free agency. It was atrocious at the time it was made too. One of the rare times the Rays chose the more expensive vet over the young prospect and of course it blew up in their face.
