I don't believe the Diamondbacks want to pay Montgomery $22.5 MM in 2025 so they pay down 1/3 to free up payroll flexibility. Barrosa is stuck behind Alek Thomas and Jake McCarthy for playing time in CF. Simpson will start the '25 season in AA; he has above-average to Plus Power potential while showing respectable walk and K-rates.
