3White Sox want position players for Crochet, so here’s a deal with nothing but position players.
I know you seriously wouldn't want TB to trade for him but say they did, would you be worried about regression? Honestly I wouldn't give up Taylor for him, with McClanahan and Springs already in the rotation and to me better pitchers, I'm not sure where he'd slot in cause I hate throwing back to back lefties, it gives the RH lineup 2 days to get adjusted.
I’d be fine with the Rays giving up this package for Crochet, with the idea of flipping him at the Deadline. Rays would be able to keep Pep in Durham to start the year which would give them an extra year of control of his services, and the Rays could turn 1 good prospect and 3 “meh” prospects into younger better options. I would be worried about regression to some extent, but I also think the White Sox are horrendously bad at maximizing pitcher results (see Kopech), so we could see the Rays unlock another higher level from Crochet. In any event, the Rays don’t need pitching, so I give any Crochet trade a low probability of happening.
