The Red Sox need pitching. Robbie Ray is a great mentor. The Giants need a SS. Trevor Story needs a new start away from Boston. Win-win.

Giants are counting on Ray and Hicks. No shot they’d deal both. I don’t view them as negative value at all, and Story can’t stay healthy. Giants could take a chance on story but not for this package.

OK, thanks. The Red Sox wouldn't let Story go for less.

There are 29 other teams bidding on Roki. The Dodgers are favored. All teams are limited by bonus pool dollars which, frankly, are dwarfed by endorsement dollars. That gives New York and LA teams a big edge. Also, from MLB TR: "To the extent there’s a knock against Sasaki, it’s his workload. He has yet to reach 130 innings in any season. He was limited to 111 frames this year and missed time midseason due to an unspecified injury in his throwing arm. ESPN’s Jeff Passan reports that he also suffered a torn oblique. The injury history is a concern when paired with his slight velocity dip, but it’s unlikely to dissuade teams from an all-out recruitment."
