3I think it's a near certainty that Mead is traded. He has stalled, and the Rays spent a fortune in value to acquire Morel, a near carbon copy of Mead. RH, very poor 2B, 3B, 1B, LF. If they thought he was in their future, they wouldn't have targeted Morel. Meanwhile, the Royals have a huge need for a RH bat with some versatility to platoon at 2B/LF. The Rays get a couple of nice prospects and open up a spot for Bob Seymour or Tanner Murray (I think both should be added to the 40).
Works for me. I like Mead more than Morel but the RFO clearly doesn’t.
KC and Oakland both have openings at 3B, both have plenty of depth at catcher, to me it makes so much sense to try to get Jenson or Susac and I hope TB matches up with one of them in a depth for depth move.
