Phillies need more offense, particularly against right handed pitching. Lowe checks that box much better than Stott. Siri also is better than Rojas offensively, although he is still not that good. Phillies lose on 2B defense but gain on CF defense. Rays get a younger, much cheaper 2B; and a younger slightly cheaper CF. Rays will save close to $10 million which is something they are always looking to do.

I cannot think of a single reason why the Rays would be interested in this trade. If they trade Lowe, they are signaling they don't intend to compete in 2025, which makes sense considering they have no stadium or tv deal right now. So why bring in two lesser players who make league minimum and who are only as good as internal options (Cabby at 2B and Deluca at CF) and probably worse than minor league callups in 2026? That doesn't make any sense to me. No, if the Rays are trading Lowe and Siri to Philly, it will be for prospects, not cheaper/worse major league options. Hard pass on this trade.
