Rays are probably looking to trade B.Lowe this Winter and if they make him available the Giants should absolutely be interested. The Giants got all of 72 wRC+ and 0.4 fWAR from the 2B position last year, and that’s not going to cut it. B.Lowe has injury issues and should probably log half his game action at 1B/DH to minimize injury risk, but even with that limitation, he would dramatically improve the Giants as he’s still a safe bet to hit 120-130 wRC+ and put up 3-4 fWAR. This trade looks like a steal on paper, and it might be that. The Giants farm isn’t very good and where it is good, I didn’t think the Giants would be interested in trading someone away (e.g., Crawford). This is about the best I could do to line up a B.Lowe trade to San Fran, which means the Rays are probably gonna trade him to another team. That said, each of the Giants players has good upside and has performed well in the minors, and in the big picture, leaving $3-4MM on the table to get Rays’ Guys is absolutely something the Rays would do.

With SF field being so spacious do you think B Lowe loses some value to them since so much of it is linked to his power? Do you think they'd be better off with a guy like Yandy who is gap/extra base hits and OBP driven to team up with Eldridge? Luciano looks like he's getting Meaded too, not as a SS but do you think TB might have any interest? SF has quietly built up some OF depth, they have a few guys I'd be interested in with Arias being top of the list.

When Lowe is on the field, he plays like one of the top 25-50 position players in baseball, so I think he will be fine in any stadium (and remember, only 1/2 the games are played at home). Yandy is going to have a bunch of suitors. I don’t like San Fran’s Farm well enough to trade Yandy to them. I agree with you on Luciano. I wrestled with including him in this trade but I didn’t have enough confidence in him living up to his prospect rankings. Arias was one of the guys I didn’t think San Fran would trade.
