14Needs a 3rd team for the A's to flip DeLauter to. Otherwise, it's a down vote for the A's.
Part of the reason it didn’t happen this summer is Cleveland wouldn’t include Chase. A’s wanted him.
I haven't heard this rumor. Cleveland wanted Rooker and Forst was stupid enough to want a prospect that makes Royce Lewis look like an iron man?
I don’t disagree with the injury part. That said he’s a top 50 prospect. Number 2 in Cleveland’s system along with a top 10 prospect and a proven RHP. I would trade in Genao instead and ass Valera (gets a 4th year option.) Espino and DeLauter were the 2 pieces for Murphy. With the Espino injury it was Cleveland’s unwillingness to add in DeLauter to the mix for Rooker. Also every org values prospects differently so that’s what makes this so interesting.
Do you have a link to the source? The A's haven't had beat writers for a while so there was nothing about any of this at the deadline... Taking DeLauter would be a mistake, guys on the IL don't produce. Francisca's name is interesting as he was in the Complex League when talks would have been happening and it's very, very rare for the A's to reach that far down.
Cleveland isn't going to include DeLauter... He's on their almost untouchable list, which Lindor was as well...
And then they traded Lindor.
I meant when he was a prospect... Lindor was not available when he was a prospect. Cleveland didn't trade Lindor until he wouldn't sign the contract extension he was offered...
I feel like you may be being a bit too harsh towards DeLauter, but I get the injury concerns... One problem with this deal... Cleveland wants to build around DeLauter long term... They would definitely try to get Rooker, but Cleveland isn't willing to move DeLauter for him...
DeLauter is listed at 6'4", 235 and the same foot keeps breaking. I think Cleveland should trade DeLauter to the first sucker that comes along asking for him... and I can only hope it isn't Dave Forst. Did you hear this rumor at the deadline?
It was circulated by a few Cleveland reporters. I can look for the link. I don’t have an X account anymore (to much toxic stuff on it lol.) DeLauter is the “untouchable” Cleveland prospect. That is true but they are in a win now situation.
I understand what you mean about X. Thanks for the info.
Honestly from the actually Cleveland peeps I know, there wasn't anything stated about DeLauter to the As at all. From what I know that report was someone speculating not from any rumor or source
Thanks.
