Bad Contract swap/change of scenery for all three players and teams. Montgomery is a goner (after the Kendrick comments) and Reds get a vet starting pitcher for one year (vs 2 years left for Candelario). Reds are aiming to compete this year with the Tito Francona hire. Yankees get a more versatile player then DJ who can be the 1B or 3B at times. He is from NYC as well. Also love his switch hitting versatility. DJ waives his no trade clause (hopefully). AZ closer to his CA home. He is by far the worst contract and player out of the trio so Dbacks are getting additional prospect/bullpen compensation. Also he could potentially replace Walker at 1B. And worst case scenario he is injured then at least Dbacks get the insurance money. May be a bit messy for AZ so maybe they prefer a straight up trade w/Cincinnati and take out Lemahieu. Either way Montgomery is a goner and I think Tito would like him for a year.
