Rays trade cheap SP to Twins, who are looking to cut a little payroll while still remaining competitive, in return for two minor leaguers.

I like both. In 3 years in the minors, Morris’ worst season long WHIP was a 1.25 in A/A+. He has 2 above average to plus pitches with above average control. He needs to have a better 3rd pitch to be a SP, but he has a very promising profile with a high floor. Beltre would be a hard get from Minny, but he has the profile of a player the Rays should target and Minny can afford to trade a far off OF prospect. I would love this trade for Tampa Bay, though it’s probably not very likely given Beltre’s upside and the fact he was signed in 2024.
I asked because I was looking at Morris a few days ago and almost included him in trades, still had him in the back of my mind and then this popped up
