I don’t think the Phillies need a 1B/DH, but if they do, then this trade might work for the Rays. This is a crazy risky trade for the Rays though, because Abel hasn’t been able to regain his form (ie: control) and Tait is just 17.

Well i was reading some articles earlier and one of the Phillies articles mentioned about one of their biggest weaknesses was contact hitting and they mentioned clutched hitting too, they pointed out about moving Harper back to the outfield which then would open up 1B, Idk how much credibility the guy had but I could see it as a possibility at least, I'd love to find a way to get Sang though even if it's in a smaller trade or something.

Yandy should have a very good market this offseason. Take away his first month and he had a very good season. Even with the first month he had as good a season as Alonso, who is going to cost a helluva lot more in free agency. My fear with this trade is that Abel is another Lesko, Tait doesn’t develop and the Rays are left with nothing for Yandy. It’s a very risky trade package.

Yea but with pitchers I'd rather bet on TB repairing them, they've only had Lesko for a few months so I won't start worrying til 2026 for him but I'd definitely take the gamble on Abel, TB can develop #3-#6 starters easy enough but not often do you get a chance with a guy who has TOR potential, huge risk but high reward opportunity too, that's the problem with getting young guys like Tait is there's so much risk, it's similiar to drafting them, that's why I always target AA/AAA guys so much.
