Down vote for the A's. I'm not a fan of Alcantara but I understand why he fits in the deal. I don't get why the A's would want Hoerner for 2 years. Horton went down with a shoulder injury in May and didn't get better through rest and rehab. The Cubs are hoping more rest and rehab will get him ready for next year... but if it doesn't he's probably going under the knife. Assad is a solid, back-end SP but the A's already have that on their roster. Three quarters of the value being offered has significant medical risk or simply doesn't match the A's needs.

Alcantra is going to be a star! He’s 6’6 and not even 23 yet. Has huge pop and is incredibly fast for his side. Cubs have too many outfielders to keep all of them. Hoerner would be a tremendous help at 2nd and would bring star power to this lineup to sell tickets. A’s literally don’t have any stars on their current roster. Also high chance you extend Hoerner for a team friendly deal since he’s a bay native and grew up an A’s fan. For Horton yeah that’s worst case scenario but his upside is he becomes an Ace for your franchise… it’s the A’s unfortunately you guys are designed to take chances and roll the dice since you guys don’t really buy any superstar players. This is a great trade for both teams if you really think about it

I disagree about Alcantara's trajectory but finding a defensive upgrade in CF should be one of the A's goals and he's definitely that. Hoerner may be Bay Area native but how does that help if they (actually) move to Las Vegas? Having a big league team is a 14,000 capacity stadium is attraction enough. I don't agree that this is a great deal for the A's. I believe Hoerner and Assad are wasted trade value and trading for an injured pitcher is never a good idea.

It’s a good deal that your team would make lol I think you’re forgetting yall are the A’s lol your franchise lives off deals like this. A big league team alone hasn’t gotten anyone to go to an A’s game at all so I don’t know how you say that alone is a big enough attraction… saying no to Hoerner, Asad, Alcantra and Horton is absolutely ridiculous lol if anything the A’s are getting too much in return that the Cubs would say no 🤣🤣

You're contradicting yourself. Is this a good deal or is this like the ones they've been living off for the past couple years? Because Chapman, Murphy, Manaea, etc. were crap deals. Even the Olson trade, which looked OK when it happened, has been a dud.

You’re actually proving my point lol Oakland A’s would make this deal in a heartbeat especially since they have made terrible trades in the past without thinking twice 😂😂

I can always hope they stop being stupid.

Yeah you definitely can 😅😂😂 / high upside for both teams especially the A’s and I strongly believe this is a good/great trade for everyone. We can disagree though, cheers
