👎, I would not be in favor of acquiring Trout and would hope that the powers that be in the Red Sox front office would be as well.

Why not? There's nothing wrong with Trout that a new role as DH won't fix. No more webgems means 90% fewer injuries. But also, Yoshida takes his .280+ batting average and even temperament to the Angels, and Hamilton escapes the logjam of middle infielders to pair with Zach Neto as a damn good offense/defense combo at SS/2B. In return, Boston gets three pitchers with high-risk upside (Joyce probably throws faster than any other MLB pitcher, Mason Miller included), as well as Trout, by all accounts a great clubhouse leader, which the Red Sox need. Yes, Boston accepts a $17 million per year liability for Trout's last six years, but acquiring a high-priced DH as a leader didn't work out too badly during the Big Papi years or even in 1986, with Don Baylor playing a crucial role.

He will never be fully healthy again, big, big pass. Let the Yankees trade for him.

"He will never be fully healthy again?" Hey, I'm only proposing that the Red Sox accept half of his salary! You want to acquire Burnes AND Soto. That's $180 million/6 years for Burnes and a whopping $514 million/14 years for Soto, $30.1 plus $36.7 million per year, $66.8 million per year for two players. For a $50 million-odd increase in salary liability over six years, the Red Sox get Trout's bat--if not his past baserunning or defense--plus three more high-ceiling (low-floor) pitchers. The Angels get a good DH and an electric 2B, but the move creates no holes in Boston. Finally, it'll take more than dollars to land Burnes and Soto--adding Trout sends a clear message that the rebuild is over and that Boston is ready to field a team that's competitive in the AL East.
