Mayer is ready, but he's blocked by Devers and Story (mostly Devers...Mayer doesn't look like an MLB SS, but he has the arm and range of a great 3B). Bleis keeps the Orioles system going through some upcoming leaner years. Criswell answers Baltimore's pressing need for starting pitching, and he's not good enough for success in Fenway. Holliday would get another year in AAA to hone his skills, barring injuries. By 2026 he'll truly be ready, and it looks doubtful Boston will win in 2025.
