1I would be very surprised to see the Rays trade an everyday bat in Y.Diaz primarily for a short-side platoon bat in Lochlear. Yeah, there's salary savings, but I would expect the Rays to focus on T.Peete and someone else in the minors, over grabbing a "replacement" for Y.Diaz. If the Rays trade Y.Diaz, and I figure that's 50-50, it's to move B.Lowe to 1B in an attempt to keep him healthy for a full season (he played there a lot in 2024) or to open a spot for the LHB of J.Aranda. Lochlear would only play against LHP, which makes him a poor return for Y.Diaz.
