5Noel gives you an immediate, and much younger, replacement for Rooker; Velazquez is a very young, highly rated power hitter; and Espino is a low risk very high reward throw in. A's can be patient with him, the Guardians not so much.
Why trade for Rooker when Noel could end up being just as good? Plus Noel is actually a better fielder...
So if that is true, why would the A's not do it? Get Noel, a top 5 prospect, and a guy who was considered one of the best minor league pitchers a few years ago. I don't get the two down votes for this trade if Noel = Rooker.
I didn't down vote and the down vote happened because of Espino probably... This actually doesn't make any sense from Cleveland's side to be sincere if Noel finishes the season strong...
I wouldn't touch Espino. He's broken and he takes up a 40 man spot. I think Noel's swing/miss relegates him to a bench or platoon role. Ralphy Velazquez is a good prosect but after spending the #4 pick on Kurtz I can't justify trading Rooker for a 1B prospect that's even further away.
