4Down vote for the A's. I'm not sure Mace makes the cut for Rule 5 protection. Noel is a platoon bat and out of options. I like Genoa but not enough to settle for the other two.
Noel isn't a platoon bat... His numbers actually support that... Also Mace has taken a step forward this season. Though that being stated, he isn't the type of arm Oakland would want... Plus with the fact Cleveland put prospects into Thomas and have Noel, I don't see them putting a bunch of prospects into Rooker...
Small sample size helps Noel for now, long-term RHP is going to keep him in check. Massive power when he gets a mistake, though. The A's have internal arms they need to protect from the 40 man before adding Mace to the mix. What's the point in trading for him just to risk losing him in the Rule 5? Having Lane doesn't impact Rooker's playing time.
I don't know the A's situation that way, but Mace isn't a hard thrower anyways, so I doubt he's on the normal target list for the A's anyways, plus even though he did take a step forward, his numbers aren't exactly impressive... At best he is a Cal Quantrill type I feel like... Like you said Noel is out of options, plus they have Thomas and Fry... Where does Rooker play if they keep those three? Thomas isn't a good defender... Noel isn't all that great either... But Noel would be Rookers replacement on paper for the A's so that part makes sense, but considering him a platoon is way off the mark... I just don't see Thomas and Rooker on the same roster for Cleveland...
