I don't think Curtis Mead has a future with the Rays. But the Royals need a 2nd baseman that's cheap and not a rental.

Royals are not going to deal the heir apparent to Salvador Perez for a secondbaseman.

They should be trying to make the playoffs this year, not by hoarding a prospect that can't help you win for 3 years. Sla Perez is like Ric Flair...they will never retire!

Exactly, if they are vying for a playoff spot and need a secondbaseman it will not be Curtis Mead. Nope, no way do they they deal Mitchell. It is not hoarding, it is developing their young talent. I believe the Rays do that too. Would that be called hoarding?

If the Rays were in the position to make the playoffs for for the 6th time in 40 years, they would not hoard their 4th best catcher with a 30% K rate in A ball while starting a replacement player at 2nd and 3rd base. Maikel Garcia is atrocious with the bat, and Massey has 4 walks in 180 PA. The Rays would do as they have done recently, and trade a far off prospect at a position of strength for a MLB ready prospect at a position of need. Liberatore for Arozarena. Jesus Sanchez for Nick Anderson. Even Jake Bauers for Yandy Diaz was trading a 20 year old wunderkind for a late 20s rookie who would help immediately. The Royals need to add an infield bat ASAP. One that'll be around for 6 years, all the better.

As usual you slam organizations not named the Rays for the way they do business because they do not do what you want them to do. But, ask yourself one question, how many World Series have the Rays won?

What the fuck are you talking about? What organization did I slam? You asked, quote: "It is not hoarding, it is developing their young talent. I believe the Rays do that too. Would that be called hoarding?" I then told you about all the times the Rays traded minor league talent away, for guys like Tommy Pham, Nick Anderson, Peter Fairbanks, Yandy Diaz, and that took them to 5 post seasons in a row, and an AL Pennant. The Royals hoard their prospects because they won't spend money. IF the Rays did the same thing, then to answer your question, yes, I would consider that hoarding prospects. How many non home grown starters the Royals go? Like 1? Hoarders. Sell that catcher that won't help for 5 years and try to make the playoffs for the first time in a decade.
