Down vote for the A's. Velazquez is a good prospect but I have a hard time seeing the A's trade for a 1B after drafting a 1B with the 4th overall pick.
First baseman can also DH. A lot of them can easily transition to the corner outfield. He was a catcher in high school. I don't think position really matters when it comes to trading or not trading for prospects.
I disagree, I think position matters, especially when there are young options available internally like the A's have with Kurtz and Soderstrom. C/1B don't always have the legs to move to the OF and Velazquez get a 30 Grade Run from BA, 35 from MLB.
