8Abrahan Ramirez is also included in this deal, but he's not in our system yet. Clearly the Yankees paid about 50 cents on the dollar here.
Good return for the Marlins. Didn’t think they’d get much for Chisholm. Hes a league average hitter in his career and is up and down defensively. Strikes out a ton also and hasn’t been able to stay healthy.
I really believe you had Chisholm way too high... I personally had him less than 20 value (which is what he ended up being via this trade)
I'm not at all surprised at the underpay, but we can't model the personality issues or non-quantifiable factors that likely played a role in it.
His xBA/xwOBA/xSLG were never good enough at any time to even merit above 20 in my mind... But that's also an opinion with some cherry picked stats (that I put stock in though).
Yeah not a huge fan of the rating system for plenty of players on this site. Some are way to f'ing high and some are mind-numbingly way too low. I understand the metrics used, but it's obvious the teams do not place the same values as BTV. Some yes.
It's widely used as a benchmark by most teams and agencies.
nothing is perfect man. And teams mess trades up all the time, so it'd be a mistake to just assume they all know what they're doing.
