2All things considered, even if Trout were willing to accept a trade somewhere, it would still be extremely difficult for this type of trade to come together. The Angels would need a massive return to preserve any faith the fan base has in the organization, though other teams would have significant variability in how they value Trout. He is a historically talented player that could transform any team, but he had a massive contract, is 32, and not durable. Still a fascinating idea to consider.
I do think that if he goes anywhere it's Philly. I also think that with a new manager the window for a trade is more open than it will be any other year. I think if you add Schwarber (who would be expendable to Phillies with Trout in the lineup) the Angels could make this trade.
