11Guards fan perspective, bit of an underpay but a move like this could help the Guards fill their SS hole and bring back a long term SP option for 1 year of Bieber while freeing up roster crunches with Brennan and Arias leaving.
Edited to correct my misunderstanding. I saw Oswaldo Cabrera instead of Oswald Peraza. It's still an easy no from Cleveland's perspective because it hurts them at SS and SP and helps them nowhere. Cleveland has plenty of SP prospects. If they trade for a SP(which I'm not against) they have plenty of assets to get a difference maker.
Clearly you either didn’t read my comment or you’re trolling.
I'll be sincere... Cleveland is extremely deep in SS candidates so they aren't going to trade Bieber, Arias and Brennan for a different SS candidate... Plus Arias is a hell of an utility man even if the bat doesn't come around, he can easily play a lot of positions defensively at a very high level. They aren't going to dump a super young player because of his struggles against LH pitching... Plus Brennan is a heavy contact bat that was a rookie... He also was known for taking walks in the minors, which he didn't in 23, plus he came into camp stronger. I don't understand why we traded for Florial since he has looked terrible...
Personally, I think you’re too high of Arias and Brennan but we’ll see what they do!
I'm not trolling at all. You offer a SS to a team that has them coming out of every orifice. All of which are better or as good as Peraza. I wouldn't take 3 Peraza's for Arias. Then you want Brennan along with Bieber as well for a downgrade at SS and SP. You can think what you want of Arias and Brennan, but if you weren't being a homer then your opinion of Peraza would be even less than it is of them.
Then you didn’t read my comment. I’m a Guards fan, so the idea I’m a homer for the Yanks is illogical. We just have different views of the players involved in this deal. I have put up a second proposal though that takes a second crack at this.
How does trading a SS for a SS free up the roster crunch? Cleveland says no here because this does not address their needs. They also won't sell low on Bieber.
It clears a crunch because they would have a SS (Peraza) who clearly wins the SS battle this year.
What has Peraza accomplished to date to clearly win a job? Nothing. He is also currently injured and could be facing a lengthy shoulder injury. No thank you.
Did not know about the injury, my bad on that
