5I've already dealt Kwan to Seattle for Miller who effectively replaces McKenzie. Brennan takes over LF and Davis goes to RF. The Pirates get a good, young SP with huge upside and a bit of injury risk, but what SP doesn't carry that?
Pirates reject that pretty easily. Yes all pitchers carry injury risk. But some more than others.
I'm not so sure about that. Triston looked pretty good in his outing and is reportedly perfectly healthy, and a healthy Triston McKenzie makes any rotation better. Some more than others and the Pirates rotations falls into the former.
I think the Pirates would rather roll with Skenes, Jones, Chandler, Keller Solometo etc and keep Davis
You might be right, but there are plenty of articles and quotes suggesting they are looking to add a SP. If those articles are wrong then this trade probably doesn't make sense. If they are accurate then this is a good deal for both teams.
