Welcome!
I've seen way worse! What idea were you trying to get out?
I was thinking the Giants need starter help bad. JD Davis isn't a fit in Cleveland but with Cleveland's penchant for moving players before they walk Bieber would be theoretically available. Slater is a serviceable MLB outfielder not sure about defensive metrics, but eye test seems fine in center, good in the corners. Joey Bart lottery ticket and two pitching prospects that have stuff but are most likely viewed as relievers. I don't know anything about the Cleveland minor leaguer, but it made the value even. I figure Cleveland could get a better offer.
Your logic is sound, but Clevelands FO is being extremely bullish with Bieber... They likely want 10-15 area at minimum back for him especially since he is throwing 93/94 at the start of spring and he was 91 the last two seasons... He was 93/94 when he won the Cy Young... Another issue is they are looking for upgrades in the OF and Slater doesn't hit well enough to merit that plus Cleveland is running Hedges, Bo Naylor and David Fry as the catchers... Fry also plays 4 more positions and has been the position player pitcher. Bart is out of options, and I doubt he would make the roster. It would be like Joe Whitman plus like Heliot Ramos type of deal to get Bieber, if that's even enough... I don't think Giants have the young bat Cleveland wants...
I have an idea for a new one hold up. Three teamer.
Welcome! Not a fan of the trade, but glad to have you around. Don't take it personal either because I don't like half my trades. LOL
