2Imagine, if you will, the Yankees don't sign Blake Snell. Clarke Schmidt's slotted as long relief with Bryce Elder getting starts as their 5th guy. The Braves have Reynaldo Lopez as their 5th and add Oswald Peraza in Gwinnett. Ben Rice's a developing catcher. Jeter Downs is traded again and has been on as many teams as he's been in ML games. A million bucks evens the trade.
I don’t really like this trade from a Braves perspective. I am very bearish on Peraza and I think the Braves would be better off with a quantity package of youth and upside. George Lombard (11.1) - Likely Future Top 100 prospect Brock Selvidge (4.8) - Potential Back End Rotation Candidate Carlos Lagrange (5.2) - Boom/Bust Prospect. Has tools similar to Jhancarlos Lara and could be the best player in the trade. Jace Avina (Not in System/Lottery Ticket) - interesting power potential = 21.1 + Avina (<1)
