3I can't see this really making sense for the Nationals. Yes, they unload some salary, but the loss of premium talent would push the Nationals contention window back far enough that they would be better served just waiting. Also bizarre that the website has Wood listed as a 1b, when he plays a premium CF defense.
The Nats are still rebuilding. They really can’t afford to give up on young talent for salary relief. Crews and Wood have too much promise to be used in these types of trades. I say no deal and the Nats roll the dice and hope Crews and Wood lead them to the light.
This was more of a joke trade to see how much value a team could get by just taking on some contracts
