Another deal that could bring Sabol to the Rays. This one includes Kelly who deepens a Giants pen that may have to counted on much more this season with a thin rotation. Also adds Shenton who has a power LH'ed bat suited for DH/1st base but could see PT later this season and moving forward as a regular starting in 2025. Rays have similar types guys like Aranda and Isaac waiting in the wings for the LH'ed DH/1st base spot beginning this season and the future. Kelly is depth the Rays could afford to lose now. They get back a LH'ed catcher who could become their #1 option (or at least a platoon) this season. Birdsong is a 22 year old with four good pitches that adds to their future arsenal of arms that needs replenishing.
