8I don't see how Cleveland would even think about this deal personally...
Nothing for Mariners either
The Mariners need a utility guy and Rengifo is a damn fine one. They also need a backup C and Thais would do well there. Kwan brings GG defense from LF and would be the Mariners lead off hitter for years. The only thing giving the Mariners pause here would be dealing Ford, but the return is very useful and beneficial to the Mariners.
Let's look at their team... They are a pitching first roster especially if that ball park they have... I wouldn't touch that starting 5 of their rotation if I was Seattle, which that trade does... Next, they went and got Polanco... 1B, 2B, SS, CF are 100% Covered... Raley and Canzone are two guys that can produce in the OF... Canzone had ridiculous AAA numbers... I think he could easily replace Hernandez in RF and Raley takes LF... That's not as bad of a group as you think... Zavala as the back up can really defend and that's the priority in Seattle, having a defensive C as a back up just like Cleveland plus Garver is now the DH... The production they lost was Suarez, who is someone they haven't replaced... I wouldn't even be surprised if they try Polanco out at 3B or let Taylor or Urias take the position or go pick up like a Tyler Freeman type to play 2B... They likely aren't going to add a bat through Miller, but use their prospects like Hancock to find a blocked 2B/3B... Triolo of the Pirates could be another player they may and try and make a move for since he is blocked at 3B in Pittsburgh...
From OKYepYep I believe is what he goes by. "It is the highest floor team they've had in a long while but... 3B is a gamble, LF is high upside platoon, RF is made of glass and projected for less than average production, no real backup if SS gets hurt, questionable backup if C is hurt"
They have plenty of utility players in Urias, Rojas, Moore, Haggerty and Taylor. Blake Hunt is 4th string as in needed they would use Garver if needed. Raley, Haniger, Cazone have the corners covered. Plus Marlowe on AAA. Polanco and Moore can covet back up SS. Crawford is the lead off
I don't see how you can say something so ridiculous personally...
Well we have a difference of opinion, but I don't believe they are even listening to offers on him since they plan on signing him to an extension...
