Brewers are desperate for SPs and would make the deal even though Waldrep has only thrown a total of 19 innings in the minors and Alvarez is years away from helping.

Spikes

The Brewers currently have Miley, Ross, Rea, Ashby, Hall, Junis, and Gasser as potential starters behind Peralta. They also have a couple of prospects that will probably start in AAA that could help this season. I understand that's maybe quantity over quality but desperate is not a word I would use. However, if you mean desperate for another quality pitcher, then possibly Smith-Shawver could be that pitcher. If Arnold thinks so, then this would be a good trade for Milwaukee.

You're right Spikes. I should have said a #2-3 type starter. Like you said the Brewers are loaded with possible starters with potential.
