2Brewers want nothing to do with Elder until the Braves can figure out what happened to him after the break last year. He was so bad the Braves left him off the roster in the playoffs.

I think he was fatigued, hitters figured out to see his spin better, he couldn't spot his sinker and therefore allowed hitters to sit on his slider. I'm not pretending to know all the answers but I believe that these three things happened and led to him being less effective than he was to start the season. I don't believe he was left off the postseason roster because he was "so bad". It was 5 games in the NLDS and the Braves had lined up Fried, Morton and Strider.
