I am delusional. As the Dodgers true rival, the Giants need to make big moves to be competitive with them. So the Giants are getting their checkbook out with this trade. The Giants acquire their future 2B and good friends with Jung Hoo Lee with Kim, they get their co-ace to make a strong rotation with Burnes, and lastly they get a backup SS for Luciano and DH option in Adames. The Padres need outfields so they get Conforto with 11 mil to cover the contract difference with his and Kim’s contract. They also get their 1B in Wade while Cronenworth goes to 2B. They also get another OF with Mitchell. Padres also needed LH hitters which all 3 are. The Brewers get a great 2B in Estrada, Turang moves to SS primarily, JD for 3B/1B/DH utility, a young pitcher in Winn, the Giants number 3/Top 10 LH pitcher in Whisenhunt(I think is undervalued on this site). After this trade the Giants would sign both Matt Chapman and Cody Bellinger to finish a crazy offseason to attempt to match the Dodgers.
The Brewers say no deal. Milwaukee has to get pitching for Burnes and the pitchers they are getting are too weak to replace Burnes. Iriarte and Whisenhunt won't be ready in 2024 and Winn was terrible in AAA and the big leagues. Brewers counter with: Giants keep Davis & Winn. They get Iriarte and send Harrison to Milwaukee.
