The Orioles need starting pitching and getting Hunter Brown from Houston could really help them out. In exchange the Astros would get Coby Mayo who has a good arm. He plays third base but the Astros could move him to 1st base when he gets promoted around 2024. The Astros would also get Austin Hays who they could put in the outfield and they would move Yordan Alvarez to DH. Jake Meyers hasn’t had much playtime but he has made the major league but right now he isn’t on the Astros roster from when I checked ESPN. Meyers although he is 26, he could still help the Orioles, while he isn’t the greatest hitter, his defense is average. This was a trade proposal I made a few days ago, I'm curious to know what you think of this trade.

As an O's fan I say yes, even if Jake Meyers was left off and the O's overpay for Hunter Brown. I see that the Astros fans don't feel the same way (5-0 against as I comment), I understand and agree with them. Starting pitching is king.

From what I thought when creating this trade is Houston already has really good starting pitching in Valdez, Javier, Garcia etc. Hunter Brown would be more like a number 5-6 starter on Houston, but in Baltimore he would be more of a 2-3 pitcher for them. Since the O's need starting pitching to contend, Hunter Brown would be a great option for them. Imagine the O's starting pitching with a free agent pitcher, Grayson Rodriguez, DL Hall, Hunter Brown, and Seth Johnson as the next generation pitching core for the O's. Now the reason I put Hays here is so Houston can move Alvarez to DH because he isn't a good outfielder and the Astros would want a decent amount back for a top 100 prospect.
