Absolutely not a chance from Cleveland's perspective, but I'm sure the Phillies would love it and that's all you need to know.

For Cleveland to trade Clase, they need to add offensive help for their major league club in the OF. That is missing here so the Guardians pass.

while this deal doesn't fix the problems the Guardians have right now.. it offers a means to a solution for solving 2024 problems.. First off.. Caba does nothing for anyone other than the Phillies.. The Guardians don't need or want him.. neither does the third team. Caba is a talented kid that needs a long loong LONG time to fully develop.. The deal needs to be altered by bringing in a third team.. Seattle. Seattle needs a 3B (Miller) and can be flipped to the Mariners with a couple of changes.. 1. A defensive fourth OF'er for the Phillies is added. 2. Griff McGarry is added to the Guardians haul & will essentially be the replacement for Emmanuel Clase in the back of the pen/closer's role.. 3. Seattle gets Miller from the Phillies and a Comp A pick from the Guardians. They give up Jonathan Clase, a RHH OFer who starts at the ML from day one. Cleveland also gets a starting pitcher with a huge upside that hasn't been realized.. or see the deal I've posted.. Thanks for posting..
