6I’m not a fan of Morel to the Rays, at least not before the Rays see what they have in Aranda and Shenton. Morel isn’t exactly a guaranteed big bat either. He has gotten a ton of press this off-season, but he only hit 119 wRC+ (1.4 fWAR) last year, which would rank 8th among everyday Rays bats last year (and 10th by fWAR). He’s a good player to have but unless the Rays see further upside in the bat and an ability to play COF at an average level (at least), I don’t see the Rays targeting him in trade. Certainly not at the expense of 4 WAR Paredes.
i was thinking of trading parades to the cubs because they need a third baseman and may get Cody Bellinger which would make their lineup formidable. For the Rays they need to open up a spot for initially Mead and then Junior Caminero. How about Alcantara and a more highly regarded pitching prospect? i would then take Harold out of that deal
The problem is Paredes just doesn't get the respect for his value for some reason, his approach would fit perfectly in Wrigley on days the wind blows out, pull it in the air and let it land in the basket. Not sure if they'd be interested in Ramirez cause he'd be a downgrade from Morel, I'm not a big Alcantara fan, he just feels like a RH Jesus Sanchez to me, steady just missing something, not a bad deal but maybe doesn't fit both teams needs quite as well.
I’d love to see the Rays add Alcantara.
I'd love to get Caissie, I think Alcantara would definitely be the safest bet though, if it meant a better pitching prospect I'd be really happy with Canario too
I like Caissie too, even though he's probably limited to LF (and the Rays may need LF for one of their many poor fielding big bats). Alcantara should be a plus defender in the field though, which gives him a higher floor.
