7For Cleveland to trade Clase, they must get an MLB bat to aid their offense. The Guardians reportedly asked for Horton according to Cub media. I would think this would be their minimum asking price.
If Cleveland would agree to this the Cubs would do it instantly.
Chicago Twitter GMs seem to think that Horton alone is too much for Clase.
The question in this deal is Horton. He has limited exposure to AA after having just an OK performance in A+. Clearly he is a very good SP prospect, but he's not on the same level as Williams and Bibee were until he's lights out in AAA. This deal could easily turn out in the Cubs favor should Horton not reach his full potential. Having said that, I don't blame Cubs fans for being reluctant to deal him. This is a deal that makes both sides question if it should be done which makes it a good proposal IMO.
Cubs won’t trade Horton in this deal.
Cleveland for sure would need a solid SP prospect back in the Clase deal!
Then go pay Hader who is older the over $100M that he is asking for.
