5A lot of these catcher trades make me think the Rays made a huge mistake trading Hunt earlier this offseason. Of course, I didn't like the trade when it was announced either.
Without knowing much about Ramirez, why do the Nats consider this trade? They don't need an outfielder... Let alone a another right handed hitter.
Cause Hunt only has an above average arm with a 60 grade defense and like most catchers their bats start to come around later on like Hunt's did this year in AA/AAA, and he has all his options left, with the roster already jammed packed with one catcher on it where would they have room for a 2nd catcher? 28 yo Single A relievers need roster spots too, you just don't understand the Rays Way, somewhere out there is a Jose Molina or Micheal Perez that will have 1 stat that will make them look almost like a passable player letting them get rid of bums like Heim, Vogt or Chirones that will never make it to the big leagues.
Lol. You’re not making me feel better.
Haha yea idk why TB gets so weird with the catcher position, we waited for years for Hunt's bat to come around and when it starts to show life they trade him, at this point I'd be fine with an milb deal with Zunino just to show that they are even trying to address the position.
