Diamondbacks had the worst production from their RH'ed DH's in the majors last year. Rays save 4.4 million and allow younger prospects to get AB's. They also save 4.4 million and get two very young players in Yan who throws and and Zapata who is a big, strong hitting OF'er who may end up in RF as he develops.
