2This looks like a solid outside-the-box proposal. It is not the usual offer of sub-standard talent just to match the total value of the "quality" player sought in the return. I have not done a deep dive into the Stl players in this proposal, but know enough that this seems like a nice deal for both sides.
I think you have to find someone other then Winn because I have a hard time believing the Cardinals leave their up the middle this open in a market that has basically no up the middle players. Otherwise I can see how this could be acceptable to both teams though my guess is the Mariners would try and maybe sell them on Gilbert over Kirby and maybe drop Winn and add a lesser prospect.
