Luis Matos is a very hard player for the M’s to accept as the key player in a Gilbert trade. He was quite bad last year and I can’t see the M’s viewing him as someone who is able to meaningfully help this year. Estrada as more of a glove first player is also probably not ideal, even though he’d be great at 2B. Are the Giants open to moving him generally?
I quite like Gilbert for the Giants, but I think this one’s a little far-fetched. Giants aren’t shopping Thairo (as far as we know these things), since he’s the athletic kind of player they are hoping to DRAW to the org. And Matos is probably a little over-valued on the site, but I don’t think it’d be surprising if he ends up an all-star outfielder. But yeah, not this year.
