2The Red Sox have a dire need at pitching and are ubiquitous in infielders. The marlins need offense for 2024 and this deal gives them just that and at areas where they need it on the field.
Boston would do this in a heartbeat unfortunately Marlins never would. I love Cabrera and was PO’d when it leaked at trade deadline that he was part of a deal for Justin Turner that didn’t happen. I could see Sox front office still seeking him but package to Marlins would hurt considerably more than this one.
