7Cleveland is not going to use Naylor or Bieber to get rid of Straw. Teams are asking about Naylor, but Cleveland is not shopping him. Cleveland beat writer Mandy Bell gives the odds of a Naylor trade at 5%. Bae does absolutely nothing to help the Guardians. Easy no for Cleveland.
Cleveland has a 95% chance of extending him and a 5% chance of trading him.... He isn't going anywhere!
He could play CF instead of Straws. Would Bae for Bieber be fair?
If the Guardians include $4m in cash, yes. Then Bae can play 2B and they move Gimenez to SS while Rocchio goes back to AAA to work on his game. Gimenez and Bae at the top of the order could be awesome, could be 100 stolen bases.
Teams have their own way to evaluate players so don't get wrapped up in the value given here. If Cleveland does not get what they want, they will just keep him.
Andres Gimenez was the AL Platinum Glove and two time Gold Glove playing at 2B. They are not moving him away from 2B. Between Rocchio, Arias, and Freeman, SS will be well covered. There is more depth behind them. They do not need Bae. They need an outfielder with pop.
Not much of a bat. Cleveland needs offense.
