Cleveland has no need to trade Naylor, so if they did it would have to be an overpay. Trading Naylor, with his moderate value, won’t fix what is broken with the Guardians - to do that they should use Clase, Bieber, and the excess of MIF’ers. So I think it would be interesting to use Naylor to grab some young talent to beef up the thinning minor league organization. Hancock can help in 2024, but the rest of these guys are down the road, and you know Emerson was probably on Cleveland’s 2023 draft board before Seattle took him. So, Seattle gets a very productive 1B to help them now, without sacrificing too much MLB ready talent, and Cleveland gets an infusion of organizational depth.

Seattle would.like.naylor. But . Seattle's..problems.would. Not be fixed..with him. Alone . So..an over pay is out of the.question.in.this case. The owner..Stanton.. Is holding .the team..hostage ..cuz people..don't want.cable.t.v.

That is the idea.. Though.. Use.prospects..for. A couple..trades... What .else..can they do . Mariners won't..trade. Montes choose..an other .

Why are you constantly pushing the contention window down the road and wasting Jose Ramirez's value even more. I just don't get that. Cleveland is in a very winnable division in 2024. Let's get the needed help now and let's go after 2024. Thankfully, I don't see the Guardians trading Josh Naylor.

We each have our opinions, correct? Why do you want to be mediocre every year? What is so great about winning 85 games and winning the Central, and never, ever, winning the World Series? This team won’t do jack next year and we both know it. Partly a money issue, and partly an unfocused FO that is making very illogical decisions (and has been for some time). At some point I just had enough. I would rather regroup (call it a rebuild if you like), trade Clase, Bieber, Naylor, & excess MIF’ers, get rid of Straw for God’s sake, and pick up more young SP, a stud CF, and piece the bullpen back together. Yes, 2024 might not be fun, but picture a 2025 or 2026 team: C-Naylor, 1B-Manzardo, 2B-Bazzana or Wetherholt (very likely one of them, who knows), SS-Gimenez, 3B-Ramirez (older, but still good), LF-Kwan, CF-Marsee (or similar, via trade), RF-DeLauter, DH-TBD. SP- Bibee, Williams, Allen, McKenzie (healthy, although FA in ‘27), Thorpe or Snelling (the last 2 via trade or similar). Pipe dream, maybe, but not unrealistic. Most of that core is already here. Would that team not have a better chance to actually contend? I think it would, and that is all I want. This team will not spend money to get stars, which is fine - it usually causes more problems, but it can get good young players by taking advantage of win now teams. I’ve been around the block, and I desperately want to win 1 (just 1!), and every 10 years or so, at least since the 1990’s, the team becomes relevant. I just think 2025 to 2028 can be the next open window, and going this route gives us way better odds to win it all. So that’s why.

Yet, not one of the players from this trade are in your reply above which to me then calls this proposal a total waste of time
