This trade would probably have to wait for most of the free agent starting pitchers to sign. If Baltimore doesn’t do much to add to their rotation I could see this happening, otherwise unlikely. As a Cleveland fan it’s difficult to propose moving a young starter with upside. Cleveland’s rotation is currently thin (and injured), but the rotation can be bolstered by other trades (as I have proposed). Baltimore gets what they need in Logan Allen. He likely slots into the #3 spot. It’s not going to be fun for Baltimore to part with Kjerstad and Beavers but young, good, controllable pitching does not come cheaply. Ortiz to Seattle should be more palatable. He’s quite good, but blocked in their loaded infield. Morgan is a reliable reliever, giving the Orioles another bullpen option. Seattle desperately needs a second baseman. There’s not much available in free agency, so Ortiz is a very good get. .885 OPS in AAA last year. Handles both RH and LH pitching. He should start from day one. Clase and Hancock go to Cleveland. Clase is interesting, combo of power and speed, but blocked by Julio, and likely not MLB ready until late ‘25 or ‘26. Hancock is a depth starter that Cleveland would need to get back for this deal to work. For Cleveland, Kjerstad settles the right field problem, and adds needed power. Although he hits left handed, his splits indicate he handles lefties quite well. Beavers has an ETA of 2025, not a ton of high end upside, but currently better than what Cleveland has in the minors. A 2025 outfield of Beavers, Kwan, and Kjerstad is a major upgrade.

Cleveland would say no... They would have 4 prospects that essentially do the same things after this trade is done and they don't fill any needs...
