Rays have never traded FOR a player worth more than $20-25MM. They aren’t going to start with Gilbert. That said, this is an interesting trade for the Rays. They can replace Aroz and Diaz internally and trading them and Margot might allow the Rays to keep Glasnow. That would give the Rays a rotation of Glas, Gilbert, Eflin, Civale, Littell, Bradley, Baz and, after the ASG, Springs and maybe even Ras.
