1Cardinals need SP in a desperate way, so this solves a pain point for them in a big way. Fried becomes SP1 and Elder is probably SP5, with Waldrep being an option as soon as this year. For the Braves this makes no sense whatsoever. They are wanting to add SP, and I see no reason for them to trade Fried unless it's somehow for an awesome controllable pitcher. Waldrep is probably highly unlikely to be traded as well, unless it's for some high-value, controlled starter. On top of that, I don't think this is the way the Braves will try to fill LF.
