2Allows Brewers to trade Adames for additional player(s) and reduce payroll. Ortiz has been at AAA last 2 years, has .327/.380/.521 batting line and is considered the best SS glove in O's organization. Mountcastle was a GG finalist at 1B this year, and has a career .775 OPS in ML. Of course O's would love Williams as a closer.
The Brewers may do this late if the trade market isn't going well and they decide they are going to completely tank. They are trying to extend Adames and have Turang as a replacement. Williams, if traded, could be used for much needed pitching.
