Proposed on LOCKED ON ORIOLES today by Conner Newcomb (covers O's) & Herb Lawrence (covers White Sox). Numbers add up. Thoughts?

I think the Orioles hold on to their young under control players and fill their pitching needs through free agency. Maybe not the top of the market but more likely on the 2 - 3 or 4 year player. Maybe they trade some short timers like ; James McCann, John Means, Ryan O'Hearn, Anthony Santander or maybe, if the return is right; Austin Hays, Jorge Mateo, Cedric Mullins, Dillon Tate.

Problem for Joey Ortiz (SS)- Orioles have the following young infielders -Gunnar Henderson (SS-3B), Jordan Westburg (2B-SS-3B), Connor Norby (2B), Jackson Holliday (SS-2B), Colby Mayo (3B). They are all current ML'ers or Top 100 prospects. Ortiz has no where to play unless other guys are traded. They also still have Ramon Urias and Jorge Mateo on the roster. No rooms at the INN for Joey Ortiz so they have to move him. Regarding Kjerstad, they also have a lot of OF'ers, although with more ML experience (except for Colton Cowser). Agree that Santander, Hays, Mullins, and Mateo are all possible trade candidates. Not so for McCann, O'Hearn, (i.e., they are cheap) and Means is penciled in as a starter.

I also think they could move Ramon Urias

Agree, Urias might be a better trade candidate.
